‘Spooktacular’ fun on screens this Halloween

Spooky Halloween specials kick off this October with a spine-tingling line-up of ghoulishly-themed episodes and movies on Boomerang, Cartoon Network, Oh!K and Warner TV HD. This haunted celebration on Saturday, 31 October sees familiar favourites dressed-up for the occasion and ready to shock!

The animated fun starts early on Cartoon Network (Astro Channel 616) with a howl-larious Friday evening filled with shrieks and laughter from 4.00pm. Catch special episodes of Adventure Time, Teen Titans Go!, Regular Show, Uncle Grandpa and Steven Universe, and the movie premiere of Scooby-Doo Legend of the Phantosaur.


Then, continue the Saturday with Garfield and Scooby on Boomerang (HyppTV Channel 555). Tune in to Garfield Special: Bewitched at 10.00am as things get a bit out of hand when Odie turns into a bat and the only way to reverse the spell is to attend a school of witchery. Be sure to grab some snacks and get ready for this uncanny adventure. Next up, turn off the lights as the Mystery Inc gang tries to tackle more creepy ghouls and ghosts in a Scooby-Doo Halloween Movie Marathon.

What’s more you ask? Oh!K (Astro Channel 394), the hottest Korean channel in town, brings not one but three thrilling series to the watch list. Diary of a Night Watchman is a fantasy drama about a prince, Lee Rin (Jung Il Woo), who has the ability to see the supernatural. Don’t miss the repeat telecast every weekday at 6.35pm as Lee Rin tries to cope with this dark secret.

That’s not all, there are vampires joining the celebration, too! The Scholar Who Walks the Night tells a story of a lady who disguises as a man to earn a living. While selling books, she meets and falls for a gentlemen called Sung Yeol (Lee Joon-Gi), a handsome and mysterious scholar who is also a vampire. This show airs every Monday at 8.55pm, from 26 October onwards.

Adding a splash of humour to this haunted celebration, the funny men of Infinite Challenge are challenged to rob their production company, MBC, with chilling surprises at every stage. Infinite Challenge Home Alone Horror Special premieres on Saturday, 31 October at 4.20pm on Oh!K.

Also ensuring that Halloween is not all about horror, The Big Bang Theory gang returns on Warner TV HD (HyppTV Channel 613) with three spooky specials from different seasons. Penny, Sheldon and gang are all set to flaunt their best assets with out-of-this-world costumes. In one episode, Penny’s new boyfriend, Zack, becomes “super” useful to the guys when they decided to enter a Justice League costume contest. These episodes air back-to-back on 31 October from 6.30pm onwards.
