The Top Penang Majlis Berbuka Puasa with Chief Minister of Penang

About 200 orphans in the island were treated to a scrumptious ‘berbuka puasa’ dinner when The Top, Penang’s Largest Indoor Theme Park and Attractions hosted them at its highest 59th floor Top View restaurant.

Graced by Penang State Assemblyman, YB Teh Lai Heng who represented Penang Chief Minister,      YB Chow Kon Yeow as Guest of Honour, the children aged 4 – 15 years old celebrated the occasion by breaking fast to more than 60-dishes, specially prepared by award-wining Chef at the restaurant.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Only World Group Holdings Berhad, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Datuk Richard Koh, who also owns The Top, said that the treat was part of the group’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme in reaching out to the least fortunate children.

“While we celebrate our day-to-day success, we are also sensitive towards the needs of children who have lost their parents or being brought up by single mothers.

By treating them to the simplest dinner we enjoy everyday, I hope that they will be motivated to strive harder in life. When they are grown up and successful one day, they could in turn help others who are in need,” said Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Datuk Richard Koh.

The 200 orphans for the event came from various homes under Kiwanis Club of Bukit Kiara and Penang Central.

Apart from the gastronomic experience, the children and guests have also enjoyed the 360-degree scenic view of Penang island viewable clearly from their dining tables.

The evening was spiced up by some performances by The Top’s casts and crew, followed by hands-on interactive edutainment activities at Malaysia’s Largest Jurassic Research Centre.

The Top, Penang is the state’s latest attractions where it offers several indoor theme parks including 7D Discovery Motion Theatre, Penang State Gallery, Top Boutique Aquarium, Tech Dome Penang, Window of the Top so as to mention a few.
