Toys“R”Us Malaysia Offers Solutions to Address a Major Parenting Challenge: Making the Most of Precious Playtime

According to a survey conducted by Toys“R”Us, Malaysia’s leading toy, baby and education retailer focused on fuelling the imagination of children and inspiring learning through play, 33.4% of parents spend an average of just 1-4 hours per week of unstructured playtime with their children. When they were able to join in play, 36.4% of parents said the biggest challenge was a lack of information on age appropriate toys and games that strike a balance between fun and learning development. Knowing playtime is precious, Toys“R”Us surveyed more than 4,807 parents in Malaysia to better understand the challenges today’s parents face when playing with their young children. When asked what was most important when their children were enjoying unstructured playtime, Malaysian parents wanted to enhance their children’s creative imagination (66.9%) and for playtime to help their child develop their cognitive and social skills (59.8%).
