ACKNOWLEDGING NURSES ON INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY

In conjunction with the International Nurses Day on 12 May, Yayasan MRCB handed over Aidilfitri gift packs to 700 nurses stationed at the COVID-19 wards at Hospital Sungai Buloh and Hospital Serdang as a gesture of appreciation for their sacrifices and hard work taking care of COVID patients.

The gift packs consist of Raya cookies made by deaf youths from Silent Teddies Bakery. Silent Teddies Bakery is an initiative by the Community Service Centre for the Deaf (CSCD) to equip deaf youths with entrepreneurial skills and enable them to be independent and earn income. The net proceeds of the sale will be channelled towards supporting the CSCD school for deaf children and its programmes.

“Our healthcare workers have worked tirelessly on the frontlines in the dangerous fight against COVID-19. The donation was a small gesture of appreciation to acknowledge the struggle of our hardworking nurses during this difficult time and spread the blessings and joy of Aidilfitri. In the same spirit, we also contributed iftar meals to frontliners and underprivileged communities over the last month.” said Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng, Chairperson of Yayasan MRCB.

During the month of Ramadhan, Yayasan MRCB has contributed 3,000 pre-cooked iftar meal boxes to the COVID-19 frontliners and underprivileged communities. The recipients include workers on the frontlines at Hospital Sungai Buloh, KL International Airport, Hospital UiTM Sungai Buloh and University Malaya Medical Centre and B40 families in Hulu Langat, Orang Asli children at Kg Sg. Tonggang, Tanjung Rambutan.
