Projek57 & Grab Celebrate Hari Malaysia with Hope

Echoing the spirit of togetherness that led to the formation of Malaysia as we know it, nationally accredited social enterprise Projek57 is joining forces with Grab Malaysia to celebrate the continued resilience and unity of Malaysians in these challenging times.

Having collaborated throughout the year with a common goal to inspire unity and empower underserved lives, the two homegrown names look to continue uplifting the people’s spirits with their message of unity and hope in conjunction with Hari Malaysia.

Symbolising Projek57’s Movement of Hope, the Unity Ribbon is designed for Malaysians to wear the Jalur Gemilang over their hearts with pride and stand in solidarity, particularly during these extraordinary times. Thanks to Grab Malaysia’s generous contribution, 20,000 Unity Ribbons will be distributed through Grab Malaysia. Fellow Malaysians will be receiving Unity Ribbons with each order of their favourite GrabFood meals while stocks last from select participating GrabFood merchant-partners in Klang Valley.

Syed Sadiq Albar, Co-founder of Projek57 said, “We are thrilled to be joining hands with Grab Malaysia who we share a calling with, to connect and unite people. Unity in diversity is priceless and it is the foundation on which our beloved country was built on. With this collaboration with Grab, we hope Malaysians will be reminded of the power of hope, of standing together, hand in hand, in navigating through this difficult time,”

Hassan Alsagoff, Country Marketing Head of Grab Malaysia, said, “Malaysia has undoubtedly gone through a tough year, but it is by coming together and supporting each other that we are able to thrive despite the challenges. As the nation celebrates Hari Malaysia, we want to remind everyone of this spirit of unity that makes us unique. We are happy to work alongside Projek57 on this meaningful effort and we hope to continue to support the different communities who are in need.”

Co-founder, Collin Swee, added, “Hari Malaysia is a day that we all celebrate and it serves as a strong reminder that our desire for unity brought us together first and foremost. The past year and a half have been extremely difficult for many, nevertheless, in typical Malaysian spirit, we have shown that we can be a pillar for each other.”

The Projek57 and Grab collaboration will run for four days leading up to Malaysia Day, from 13 September to 16 September 2021. The participating GrabFood merchant-partners (selected outlets in Klang Valley only) are Alibaba & Nyonya, A&W, Boran, Eatomo Food Co, GO Noodle House, Gourmet Kitchen, Hayaki, Hawker Hall, HeyCha, K Fry Urban Korean, KGB Burger, KyoChon, La Juiceria Superfoods, La Juiceria Superfoods Signature, Lim Fried Chicken, Madam Kwan’s, Nando’s, Paradise Dynasty, Secret Recipe, Spades Burger, Super Saigon, The Fish Bowl, and Urban Food Club.

Earlier this year, Projek57 collaborated with Grab Malaysia for New Year and Hari Raya bespoke corporate gifts. The collaboration supported underserved communities by creating income opportunities for talented batik artisans, refugees, and B40 communities who worked with Projek57 to produce the uniquely Malaysian items.

Featuring an iconic silhouette of Tunku Abdul Rahman’s face, Projek57 Unity Ribbons which are made by the underprivileged, are also available for the public to purchase at RM3.00 each. With every purchase, Malaysians can play a significant role in supporting the needs of underprivileged communities.
