Homegrown retailer MR D.I.Y. Group [M] Berhad is stepping up its efforts to support the National Immunisation Programme by ensuring its staff is vaccinated. The company today reported that 100% of staff at 620 stores nationwide have been vaccinated.
The retailer, Malaysia’s largest home improvement brand, also reported that 95% of its almost 12,000 employees across its operations were vaccinated.
Marking the milestone, MR D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad’s Vice President of Marketing, Andy Chin said, “We launched the MR D.I.Y. vaccination effort in June with three aims in mind -- to create a safe working environment for our 12,000 staff, a safe shopping environment for the customers we serve across the country, and to support the Government’s National Immunisation Programme. We are very pleased to cross this 620-store milestone. This brings the total percentage of employees vaccinated across our entire operations to 95%, including those at headquarters, as well as our warehousing and distribution operations.”
Chin added that the company was also supporting the national campaign by playing a part in educating the rakyat.
“We have used some of our marketing assets, including billboards in high-traffic locations, our in-store environments, and our social media channels, to support the Lindung Diri, Lindung Semua campaign,” he said. “We are a Malaysian brand, and it’s important that we do our part in the fight against COVID-19.”
Chin reiterated that MR. D.I.Y. would continue to adhere to the Government’s SOPs for retail and business operations, while also continuing its community outreach efforts to help those affected by the pandemic.
Since the first lockdown in March 2020, MR D.I.Y. has initiated a myriad of programmes to support national relief efforts, including sourcing and airlifting much-needed facemasks and sanitisers direct from its suppliers, distributing personal protective equipment [PPEs] to healthcare and other frontliners nationwide, supplying hospitals with much-needed vital devices and oxygen tanks, and distributing care packages to families in need. The retailer has ensured a ready supply of quality facemasks, face shields and sanitisers at affordable prices at all its retail stores, so that the rakyat can stay protected, and stay safe.
