MR D.I.Y. spreads CNY cheer nationwide

It has been a roaring great start to the Year of the Tiger with MR D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad (“MR D.I.Y.”) for some of the nation’s less privileged.

Malaysia’s largest home improvement retailer mobilised its resources across the country to bring joy to Malaysians young and old by ensuring they had the essentials they needed for the Chinese New Year celebrations.

More than 400 residents from 15 care homes, including underprivileged children, the physically challenged and the elderly received care packages containing everyday essentials and household items. In addition, each home also received household appliances like rice cookers and electric kettles, as well as personal hygiene items such as face masks and hand sanitisers.

Commenting on the initiative, Alex Goh, Head of Marketing, MR D.I.Y. Group said,  “At MR D.I.Y, we believe that celebrations and festivities are more meaningful when shared.  We hope that this contribution helped make the festivities more memorable for some of our less fortunate members of the public.  Thank you to the fifteen homes for supporting our team in this endeavour.  We wish all Malaysians a prosperous, safe, and a very happy Year of the Water Tiger.”

Employees of MR D.I.Y. also brought extra festive cheer to 14 children residing in Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak Kanak Angels, Kuala Lumpur during their visit to the home in January. The visit comprised full-day activities such as games, tree-planting, mural painting, Chinese New Year decoration, and festive celebrations with the children. Embodied with the ‘DIY spirit’, the employees of MR D.I.Y. also cleaned up the home and painted it, all part of an extensive makeover of the home in time for the Chinese New Year.
