OnePlus 10T 5G – Burdenless Design, Evolved in Both Form and Function

Hope Liu, Chief Designer of OnePlus has revealed the design deep dive of OnePlus 10T 5G. Over a year’s design and hundreds of prototypes later, the OnePlus 10T 5G embodies OnePlus’ purposeful, burdenless design philosophy, which emphasises on creating natural, comfortable, and liberating experiences for the user. 

At first glance, the OnePlus 10T 5G bears resemblance to the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G, retaining the latter’s iconic camera module and unibody design. These shared traits intently cement the two OnePlus premium flagship smartphones as hailing from the same family. Elsewhere, however, the OnePlus 10T 5G carries aesthetic elements that are distinctively its own. 

Among the hallmarks of the OnePlus 10T 5G is what is known as the “crater” design – where the device’s rear glass panel seamlessly merges with its camera system. This has been expertly achieved using heat bending glass technology to give a smoother curvature to the camera system – more so than any OnePlus model to date. Not only does this epitomise OnePlus’ burdenless philosophy, but it also creates an incredibly satisfying experience as the user runs their hand across the back of the device, feeling the seamless transition to the camera system.

Bearing the T nomenclature, the OnePlus 10T 5G also represents a holistic performance upgrade for users, taken to the next level by evolving the device’s upgrades beyond improvements to speed alone. While the signature alert slider is not present in the OnePlus 10T 5G, this design decision has made it possible for the necessary space required inside the device to add higher wattage, super-fast charging with two charging pumps, a larger battery capacity, and better antenna signal in the OnePlus 10T 5G. All this has been achieved without increasing the thickness or weight of the device, thus keeping true to the burdenless design philosophy.

Complementing the new design language is the new Jade Green colourway for the OnePlus 10T 5G in Malaysia, a refinement of a colourway that has been widely popular with users. Inspired by the warm and soft texture of ceramic and jade, the colourway purposefully takes on a lighter shade than that of the actual gemstone – adding a younger and fresher quality to the colourway.
