MR D.I.Y. makes it a hat-trick

 


It’s been an award-filled month for Malaysia’s favourite home improvement retailer.   MR D.I.Y. Group [M] Berhad (MR D.I.Y.) scored a  hat-trick of awards when it was named “Most Outstanding Company in Malaysia - Consumer Discretionary Sector” in the ASIAMONEY “Asia’s Outstanding Companies Poll 2022” at an award ceremony held in Singapore recently.

The award comes close on the heels of two other accolades recently accorded to the company – the Frost & Sullivan 2022 Company of the Year as well as Deloitte Private’s Malaysia’s Best Managed Companies award, both for the second year running.

The ASIAMONEY “Asia’s Outstanding Companies Poll” is designed to acknowledge outstanding listed companies that have excelled in areas such as financial performance, management team excellence, investor relations, and CSR initiatives.  In the 2022 edition, votes were gathered from 958 fund managers, analysts, bankers, and rating agencies, who voted across various categories to decide which public-listed companies should be recognised across 12 markets in Asia.

Commenting on the recognition, MR D.I.Y. Group Chief Executive Officer, Adrian Ong said, “We are very honored to receive this recognition from ASIAMONEY, a leading and respected business publication. At MR D.I.Y, we strongly believe for our business to be sustainable, we must cultivate a performance-driven culture underpinned by strong governance frameworks, while ensuring a positive impact on the communities in which we operate.  This award recognises our commitments in these areas, and therefore is one that we highly value.

Ong said that while the retail and business operating environment continued to be challenging, the Group remained focused on its promise of bringing everyday essentials to the rakyat at convenient locations, at Always Low Prices. 

“We are on track to open 180 new stores this year, as part of our mission to bring modern retail concepts to as many Malaysians as possible at ‘Always Low Prices’. This will make it possible for them to stretch their Ringgit without having to compromise on their family’s  everyday needs. This accolade is testament that our efforts have not gone unnoticed,” said Ong.
