Master Community Developer, Sunway Property hosted a private buyer’s appreciation night recently at Sunway Onsen Suites in Ipoh as a gesture of appreciation for its new Sunway Property Pals+ members while celebrating the completion of the development.

The Sunway Onsen Suites development is Asia’s first serviced suites that integrate natural hot springs.

Themed “Tropical Hawaiian,” the event, which was attended by almost 400 guests, included a sumptuous tropical spread for its buyers including mocktails and barbecued snacks.

The guests were entertained with a host of performances including a live band performance, caricature activities, a fire-eating show, a walkabout magician, mini treasure hunts, a hashtag photo contest, and a poolside party with music. The event ended with a three-minute fireworks display and a drone-shot group photo.

Buyers of Sunway Onsen Suites are automatically members of Sunway Property Pals+, the newly enhanced loyalty programme that benefits everyone who resides in Sunway's developments - including sub-sale owners and tenants. It offers new conveniences and privileges for all to enjoy, comprising Rent+, Care+, and Reward+.

During his welcome remarks, Sunway City Ipoh Executive Director Wong Wan Wooi said, “We attribute the success of Sunway Onsen Suites to its unique proposition that espouses health and wellbeing, green surroundings, and its strategic location within the multitude of amenities in Sunway City Ipoh which provides convenience to residents. Sunway City Ipoh is home to two world-class resorts, namely The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat and Lost World of Tambun theme park, hotel and spa.”

“Our investors and owners are attracted to the rental yield and potential capital appreciation that is inherent in a unique resort-like development within Ipoh which is garnering rising international acclaim both as a tourism township and global retirement destination. In addition, they are assured by Sunway Property’s co-investor proposition which guarantees lifelong progress.”

The guests were also treated to the unveiling of the new Sunway Onsen Suites Premium Suites show unit at Level 5 and were introduced to a new referral programme that offers up to RM 14,000 in referral fees.

SUNWAY CITY IPOH’S RM 4 BILLION EXPANSION UNDERWAY

At the event, Wong also elaborated on Sunway City Ipoh’s RM 4 billion expansion plan to support the city’s sustainable socio-economic growth.

To date, Sunway City Ipoh is worth RM2 billion in gross development value with another RM 4 billion gross development value underway for the next 10-15 years.

Currently, Sunway Property is collaborating with Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh to upgrade Jalan Tambun from the North-South Expressway exit until the Taman Perpaduan Interchange. Costing about RM16 million, Sunway Property is contributing RM 8 million towards the project which is anticipated to be completed by mid-2023.  The upgrade will significantly reduce time on the road, with the removal of seven traffic lights which will be replaced with u-turns.

Wong said, “Sunway City Ipoh aims to become the biggest “R&R” for travellers on the North-South Expressway which could reach to 4 million vehicles during peak season. As a result of the improved connectivity, we are already getting a lot of interest from several notable F&B operators, including more drive-thru F&B outlets in addition to the current McDonald’s and Starbucks here.”

An eight-storey Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh is also being built on 3.37 acres of land with 260 beds and eight operating theatres to be ready and in operation by Q1 2024. The first phase will include 187 beds while the second phase will include 73 beds with a GFA of 448,000sqft and more than 650 car park bays.

Upcoming developments include the development of Ipoh’s largest shopping mall spanning more than 1 million sq ft in gross floor area with more than 2,000 car parks. Similar to other developments within the township, the architecture of the Mall will blend in with the area’s natural landscape. The Mall is planned with a supermarket, an anchor tenant, and features a gourmet garden, a cineplex with 10 halls, a convention centre, a bowling centre with 32 lanes, an ice-skating rink, as well as rock climbing facilities to offer a spectacular experience.

Within the plan, Sunway City Ipoh will also be building an education campus across four acres of land.

In addition, Sunway Property will also be launching an upcoming flexi-terrace development aligned to the Sunway Design and Development Architecture created and curated based on four key pillars – Sustainability, Innovation, Health & Wellness as well as Lifestyle and New Experiences just 300 metres away from the medical centre consisting of 168 units of duo residence. The gated and guarded development will feature homes with sizes ranging from 1,300 sq ft to 1,900 sq ft which will be launched in 2023.  Sunway Property will also introduce two new towers of Sunway Onsen Suites, as it has achieved a take-up rate of more than 98% for its first tower.

To date, Sunway City Ipoh has won five FIABCI awards, namely two FIABCI Prix d’Excellence (International) awards clinched by The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat and Lost World of Tambun in 2012 and 2015 respectively, and another three FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards, which included the honour of Best Master Plan township in 2010.
