Multimedia Film Productions leads the way with 17 nominations at the 32nd Malaysian Film Festival

Malaysian film maker Multimedia Film Productions is leading the way at the 32nd Malaysian Film Festival (FFM32) with 17 nominations from its three box-office hits; Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa, Rasuk and Tiga Janda Melawan Dunia.

Directed by Zulkarnain Azhar and Frank See, Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa becomes the second highest movie to receive the most nominations with 13 nods. Among the nominations are the categories for Best Director, Best Original Story, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Actress. Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa follows the story of a PASKAU team trapped in an unwanted island nation war of Namburi and is awaiting air force rescue and fighter pilots to be deployed in surviving oncoming enemy onslaught. The film heavily depicts the Malaysian military and air force, raking RM30 million of box office value since its release on the big screen.

Horror movie Rasuk is known for its thrilling suspense and terror well acknowledged among the Malay movie community fan base takes up two nominations on Most Promising Actor and Best Makeup categories. While Netflix-stream-available action and comedy film Tiga Janda Melawan Dunia (Three Widows Against the World) received two nominations for Most Promising Director and Best Costume Design.

Speaking on the nominations, Multimedia Film Production’s Executive Producer Keoh Chee Ang said the three nominated films are among the proudest for the company.

“We are delighted with the nominations of the three films that was produced within this company for these prestigious awards. We are taking this news like a reward of all the hard work we’ve been through as film makers. We would like to thank the panel of jury and Malaysian Film Festival, as these nominations means a lot to us”, he said.

FFM32 will take place at Encore Melaka on December 2nd 2022 and will be screened live on TV2 at 9pm. Be sure not to miss out!
