Lazada Contributed Over RM50,000 Worth of Essential Items to Flood-Affected Families in Kelantan

  Lazada Malaysia under its social impact initiative Lazada Teman You contributed over RM50,000 worth of in-kind donation, in the form of essential items, such as rice, canned food, cooking oil, diapers and many more, as part of the post-flood recovery effort for the communities in Kelantan.

The in-kind donation was distributed to the families in Pasir Puteh and Bachok by YB Senator Puan Hajah Fuziah Salleh, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Kos Sara Hidup), accompanied by Rick Ting, Executive Vice President, Head of User Growth and Traffic, Lazada Malaysia.

“The heavy flood caused by the monsoon season has subsided, however the impact is still very apparent. Lazada Teman You flood relief initiative is aligned with our focus of ‘Empowering Communities’ – one of Lazada’s ESG core pillars. We hope that this would contribute towards assisting the communities in their post-flood recovery effort, especially families that are struggling to rebuild their lives and recover from the severe losses and damages to their property,” said Rick Ting.

Lazada Teman You flood relief donation drive was mobilised in collaboration with the Malaysian Red Crescent (responsMalaysia) with the aim to raise RM100,000 that will be channeled towards the distribution of essential items to communities in affected areas, especially Kelantan and Johor. Lazada has also pledged a donation matching of up to RM100,000 to further assist the beneficiaries.
