Niro Ceramic Group Welcomes New Chief Operating Officer

Niro Ceramic Group, a prominent leader in the local tile industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Tan as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective immediately. This significant appointment aligns with the company’s strategic preparation for its highly anticipated Initial Public Offering (IPO) listing in 2024. David’s leadership will be instrumental in supporting Niro Ceramic Group’s growth objectives in the evolving business landscape.

David brings with him an exceptional track record in operational leadership innovation, spanning over twenty years in various industries. Throughout his career, he has held significant roles in prominent companies such as Carlsberg, Ford, and Johnson Control.

Notably, David is no stranger to the Niro Ceramic Group, having previously served as the COO at PT Niro Ceramic Nasional Indonesia in 2017, where he successfully managed the overall operations, including supply, logistics, inventory, and production. He subsequently took on the role of Chief Executive Officer at the same company in March 2019.

“We are delighted to welcome David Tan back to Niro Ceramic Group. His proven leadership and deep understanding of our operations make him a valuable asset to the pursuit of our growth milestones and our ambitions to strengthen our market value to our stakeholders,” stated Ian Kok, Managing Director of Niro Ceramic Group.

In his new role as the COO of Niro Ceramic Group, David will report to Ian Kok, and will oversee operations in Malaysia and Vietnam, encompassing crucial divisions such as Supply Chain, Domestic Sales, and Technical Sales, as well as the Group’s retail division, Creative Lab. He will also spearhead the Group Supply Chain function, fostering close coordination across all subsidiaries.

"I am honoured to return to Niro Ceramic Group in this vital role. The Group's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence resonates with my professional values and ambitions. Together with the exceptional team at Niro Ceramic Group, we will continue to advance our market presence, explore new opportunities, and deliver value to our customers, shareholders, and communities. As we approach our IPO in 2024, I am excited about the potential that lies ahead," said David.

David holds a Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia, and an MBA (Finance) from Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom. In addition to being a Certified Lean Manufacturing Implementer, David also has earned both a Master Belt and Black Belt for Six Sigma Certification.
