Global retailer UNIQLO reaffirms its commitment towards the environment and sustainability efforts with a donation of RM100,000 to support Taman Tugu’s conservation projects. This marks the second year of their partnership, building upon last year’s substantial RM300,000 contribution. The amount contributed is a part of the proceeds from paper shopping bag charges collected at UNIQLO stores.
UNIQLO's donation will continue to support Taman Tugu’s Plant Giveaway and Plant & Hunt initiatives. The Plant & Hunt is designed to educate children about seed dispersion and plant life cycles through engaging activities. The 90-minute fun and knowledge-filled session will take place every alternate weekend from 10.30 a.m to 12.00p.m. Meanwhile, the Plant Giveaway programme will take place every Saturday from 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. during which 200 plants of various species will be distributed to the public as an initiative to raise awareness on the importance of reducing carbon footprint among the communities. UNIQLO customers can access more information on these programmes at @friendsoftamantugu on Facebook and Instagram.
