Cuti Cuti Malaysia : IOI City Farm

Embark on a captivating journey to the wonders of nature without leaving the bustling cityscape. Our recent visit to IOI City Farm, nestled within the vibrant IOI City Mall in Putrajaya, was an experience brimming with excitement and discovery for the whole family. It is simply more excited as it’s Yuuki first time to City Farm

Discovering IOI City Farm: A Hidden Gem

Nestled within the heart of the city, IOI City Farm is a unique urban oasis ingeniously situated within a shopping mall. As we stepped into this enchanting sanctuary, we were greeted by lush greenery and picturesque surroundings, a stark contrast to the concrete jungle outside. This innovative approach towards integrating agriculture and education within an urban setting makes IOI City Farm one of the top attractions in Putrajaya, offering a retreat into nature amidst the urban hustle and bustle.

A Multi-Zone Adventure

Spanning across two levels and measuring about 18,000 sq ft, IOI City Farm comprises three distinct zones - Greenland, Little Rimba, and Freshwater World. Each zone offers a unique experience, from exploring lush green landscapes to interacting with adorable animals and aquatic species.

Greenland: A Botanical Wonderland

Our journey began in Greenland, where we were greeted by an impressive indoor collection of 111 living plant species spread across nine sections. From a Vertical Garden and Urban Farm to a Glocave and Mystical Cave, every corner of Greenland was a feast for the senses. One of the highlights was the Green Glades, a 21.4m2 centrepiece representing an open forest, filled with a variety of flora species. We were mesmerized by the vibrant colors and diverse plant life, each telling its own story of resilience and beauty.

Little Rimba: An Animal Paradise

Next, we ventured into Little Rimba, also known as the cute and cuddly corner, where we encountered 17 different species of animals from around the world. From sugar gliders and hedgehogs to Bengal cats and raccoons, this area was a delight for animal lovers of all ages.

Our daughter couldn't contain her excitement as she interacted with furry friends like rabbits, guinea pigs, and ducklings. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy as families bonded over the shared experience of getting up close and personal with these adorable creatures.

Freshwater World: A Marine Wonderland

Descending downstairs, we entered Freshwater World, a 6,000 sq ft marine wonderland teeming with over 50 freshwater aquatic species. From river giants like the Amazonian arapaima to tiny crustaceans such as vampire crabs, there was a diverse array of aquatic life to discover. Interactive pools allowed us to feed fishes, try our hand at fishing, and even gently pet underwater creatures. The immersive experience of being surrounded by shimmering waters and colorful fish left us in awe of the beauty and complexity of marine life.

Unforgettable Experiences for All

Throughout our visit, we were impressed by the knowledgeable staff comprising qualified zoologists, aquarists, and botanists who eagerly shared insights and engaged visitors in educational activities. From fun fishing to DIY workshops, there was never a dull moment at IOI City Farm. We learned about the importance of conservation and sustainable farming practices, gaining a deeper appreciation for the natural world around us.
