Vietjet launches Kuala Lumpur–Hanoi route, strengthening ASEAN connectivity

Vietjet has officially launched its new route connecting Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city, further strengthening economic, cultural, and tourism ties between Malaysia and Vietnam, and across the broader Southeast Asia region. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Vietnam’s General Secretary To Lam during his official visit to Malaysia.

The launch of this new route aligns with Vietnam and Malaysia’s move toward a comprehensive strategic partnership, opening doors to enhanced collaboration and development. By connecting the two capitals, the Kuala Lumpur–Hanoi route boosts regional aviation connectivity and promotes greater economic and cultural engagement.

Leaders from both nations highlighted the significance of the route, expressing confidence that it will strengthen bilateral cooperation, deepen the Malaysia-Vietnam partnership, and support the shared development goals of ASEAN.

Starting 28 November 2024, Vietjet will operate seven weekly round trips on the Kuala Lumpur–Hanoi route. This marks Vietjet’s second service connecting Malaysia and Vietnam, complementing the Kuala Lumpur–Ho Chi Minh City route launched in 2016. With this new addition, Vietjet doubles its flight offerings between the two nations to 14 weekly round trips, catering to the growing travel demand.

To commemorate the new route, Vietjet is rolling out special fares for both Kuala Lumpur–Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City services, starting from RM166 all-in (taxes and fees included) one way. The promotional fares are available every Friday, exclusively at www.vietjetair.com or Vietjet Air application.

With a rich history spanning over 1,000 years, Hanoi is a major hub for politics, economics, and culture in Southeast Asia. The city is renowned for various attractions, including the Old Quarter, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake, and West Lake. The city’s natural beauty throughout the seasons and its unique culinary delights further enhances its appeal to tourists.
