Nestlé Malaysia and MRC Join Forces to Aid Flood Victims: 5,000 Boxes of Food Essentials Packed by Dedicated Volunteers

Giving continuity to recent flood relief efforts in Kedah, Nestlé Malaysia continued its ongoing partnership with the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) to support communities in need during the monsoon season. With the aim of delivering much-needed aid to those affected by the current floods, the initiative reflects the strong collaboration between Nestlé Malaysia and MRC, built on the shared goal and both organisations’ long-standing commitment to helping vulnerable communities.

This latest phase of flood relief efforts brought together volunteers from Nestlé Cares and MRC to pack 5,000 boxes of essential food aid for distribution to Temporary Relocation Centres (PPS) in the East Coast region and other affected areas. Each box contains a range of Nestlé products, including MILO, MAGGI, NESCAFÉ, NESTUM, NESTLÉ GOLD Cornflakes, EVERYDAY Milk and NESTLÉ OMEGA PLUS, providing sustenance and nutritional support to families during this challenging time.

This initiative represents a significant contribution of products in-kind and financial donation valued at RM2 million, which is part of Nestlé Malaysia’s total contribution of RM4 million to MRC in 2024. These funds have been channelled towards emergency response measures, bolstering flood preparedness and supporting recovery efforts.

Mr. Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Malaysia, said, “As a company that has been deeply rooted in Malaysia through our 112 years of presence, we continue to engage proactively in support of communities, especially when confronted with moments of distress or special need. The monsoon season brings significant challenges to many fellow Malaysians, especially in the East Coast region. Our continued collaboration with MRC allows us to extend timely aid, ensuring that flood victims have access to nourishing meals when they need it most. My deepest appreciation goes to our dedicated volunteers who, once again, have joined hands to pack 5,000 food aid packs that that will be on their way to flooded areas very soon, under the very close and effective coordination by MRC."

Yang Teramat Mulia Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Chairperson of MRC, commented, “Nestlé Malaysia’s consistent support for flood relief efforts has been a lifeline, helping us broaden our reach to provide effective assistance to those affected by the floods. These contributions bring immediate relief and play a vital role in restoring hope for families facing immense difficulties. It is through strong partnerships like this that we can truly make a meaningful difference.”

The flood relief initiative not only showcases Nestlé Malaysia’s dedication to uplifting Malaysians but also demonstrates the power of unity in addressing national challenges. Through efforts such as this alongside its numerous CSR and ESG initiatives, Nestlé Malaysia remains steadfast in its mission to be a force for good, embodying its global purpose to unlock the power of food to enhance quality of life for everyone, today and for generations to come.
