Bolt Malaysia Celebrates Raya with Driver Partners, Strengthening Community and Connection

In the spirit of Hari Raya, Bolt, a global leader in mobility services, brought together its driver partners for a meaningful Open House in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the festive season and honour the people behind the ride. The intimate gathering united Bolt’s driver community, team members, and invited media, reinforcing the company’s commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive ride-hailing ecosystem in Malaysia.
Held at Rumah Abang Jamil, the event offered a warm and festive setting for partner drivers to connect with one another and the Bolt Malaysia team. The gathering fostered open conversations and personal storytelling in an atmosphere rooted in the spirit of Raya, centred on appreciation, connection and community.
During the event, Bolt honoured its top three partner drivers for their outstanding contributions to the platform, highlighting the essential role drivers play in creating a positive ride-hailing experience. This recognition reflects Bolt’s commitment to uplifting and supporting the very individuals who form the backbone of its service.

Afzan Lutfi, Country Manager of Bolt Malaysia, said:
"This Raya Open House is our way of saying thank you. Our driver partners are more than just users of our platform, they’re our collaborators, our community, and our everyday heroes. This event not only celebrates their contributions, but also provides a valuable space to hear directly from them, to understand their needs, and to continue building a platform that supports them better, especially during this festive season.”
The event also provided space for drivers to share their personal experiences, many highlighting how gig work has allowed them to balance earning an income with their family and lifestyle needs.
“Driving with Bolt means I can earn a stable income and still be home in time for buka puasa with my kids,” said Shahnoorsalmi Binti Khalid, a full-time driver-partner from Klang. “I appreciate that the platform gives us both flexibility and recognition, especially during Raya.”
Since its launch, Bolt has seen rapid growth in Malaysia, including a 540% increase in registered driver-partners within just three months. This momentum reflects strong interest from Malaysians in a ride-hailing platform that offers fairer earnings, daily incentives and greater flexibility. With one of the lowest commission rates in the market at 15% upon launch, Bolt empowers drivers to retain more of their earnings while enjoying greater control over their time and trips. Bolt’s pricing model offers a key advantage in Malaysia’s ride-hailing landscape. Toll charges are included upfront in the fare, providing a more transparent and predictable experience for both drivers and passengers. This reduces friction during trips and sets Bolt apart from other platforms.

In the coming months, Bolt is also set to roll out new app features to improve pickup distance management and streamline access to driver earnings, further enhancing convenience and aligning with ongoing feedback from the driver community. These product updates are part of Bolt’s broader expansion strategy in Malaysia, which includes the recently launched Bolt Executive, a ride category designed to offer elevated experiences for passengers and increased earning potential for drivers.
Looking ahead, Bolt aims to continue expanding its presence across Malaysia while introducing new ride categories and strengthening driver support initiatives. This includes the recently launched Bolt Executive, designed to offer elevated ride experiences for passengers and increased earning potential for drivers.
Through consistent engagement, a human-centred approach and its commitment to fairness and flexibility, Bolt continues to redefine the ride-hailing experience by putting people first and building a more connected, inclusive future for Malaysia’s mobility landscape.
