Hada Labo Empowers Single and Retired Mothers with Digital Business Skills Through ‘Sending Love & Care to Society’ Initiative

Hada Labo, the trusted Japanese skincare brand, continues its unwavering commitment to uplifting marginalised communities through its ‘Sending Love & Care to Society’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Now in its 6th consecutive year, the campaign has expanded its impact by empowering single and retired mothers—a group often facing financial struggles—by equipping them with critical digital marketing and business skills to help them achieve economic independence and long-term sustainability in today’s digital-driven economy.

This year, Hada Labo has taken its initiative a step further by collaborating with Ibupreneur Malaysia, a social enterprise dedicated to supporting mothers in entrepreneurship, and Watsons Malaysia, one of the leading health and beauty retailers in the country. Together, they organised a TikTok Business Workshop, designed to help women harness the power of social media for business growth.

Recognising that digital platforms like TikTok have revolutionised entrepreneurship, the workshop provided hands-on training to 100 single and retired mothers, equipping them with practical knowledge on how to establish, grow, and sustain a thriving business using TikTok. Beyond the workshop, Hada Labo has also launched a dedicated affiliate programme to provide support to these mothers. This programme offers exclusive incentives and tailored business mechanics, ensuring they receive the resources needed to succeed in their entrepreneurial journey.

Funding the Future: Hada Labo’s RM50,000 Contribution

As part of its dedication to creating a meaningful and sustainable impact, Hada Labo has funded the initiative with RM50,000, generated from the sales of Hada Labo Hydrating Cleansing Oil at Watsons. For every purchase made between 6 March – 14 April 2025, RM1 was allocated to support this cause. This initiative not only empowers women but also encourages consumers to participate in meaningful social change simply through their everyday purchases.

Championing Women’s Economic Empowerment

Lim Mei Yuen, General Manager of Rohto-Mentholatum (M) Sdn Bhd, reaffirmed Hada Labo’s commitment to empowering women and fostering financial inclusivity: "At Hada Labo, we believe in creating more than just high-quality skincare—we believe in creating opportunities that uplift lives. Through this workshop and affiliate program, we want to equip single and retired mothers with the digital tools, skills, and confidence needed to thrive in today’s fast-evolving digital economy. By empowering these women with knowledge and a supportive business framework, we hope to see them grow into independent entrepreneurs who can take control of their own financial future.”

Echoing this sentiment, Aida Zunaidi, Founder of Ibupreneur Malaysia, emphasised the transformative power of this collaboration: "At Ibupreneur, we are deeply committed to helping women break financial barriers by giving them access to the right resources and support. This partnership with Hada Labo is a game-changer, as it provides these mothers with the opportunity to build their own businesses in the digital space. Beyond technical expertise, we want to instill in them the confidence to step out of their comfort zones, take ownership of their potential, and create a stable future for themselves and their families.”

Empowering Women, Transforming Lives

The initiative’s impact is evident in the words of one of the workshop participants: "I am incredibly grateful to Hada Labo and Ibupreneur for this life-changing opportunity. The TikTok Business Workshop and affiliate program have not only equipped me with valuable digital marketing skills but also given me the confidence to build my own business. This initiative has opened new doors for me, and I’m excited for the journey ahead,” said Zaitullili Binti Muhammad.

A Legacy of Giving Back

Since its inception, the Hada Labo ‘Sending Love & Care to Society’ campaign has positively impacted 404 women beneficiaries, 2,040 marginalised individuals, 1,144 PPR families and 500 elderly folks, reaffirming the brand’s dedication to giving back to society through its initiatives.
