RAYA COMES EARLY AS HADA LABO’S ‘BERAYA LEBIH BERGAYA’ BRINGS LOVE AND CARE TO THE UNDERSERVED WOMEN COMMUNITY

For 30 underserved women, Raya arrives a little earlier this year — bringing moments of joy, confidence, and self-discovery through Hada Labo’s hands-on ‘Beraya Lebih Bergaya’ grooming workshop, part of the brand’s ‘Sending Love and Care to Society’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Now in its seventh year, the CSR initiative continues to champion meaningful and inclusive impact by equipping women with practical grooming knowledge and skill-based income opportunities, enabling them to celebrate Hari Raya with dignity, confidence and renewed self-belief.

Recognising the importance of self-confidence and personal care in women’s empowerment, Hada Labo collaborated with Women of Will (WOW) to design a hands-on grooming workshop. Participants received practical guidance on basic skincare routines — from proper cleansing and moisturising to everyday self-care habits essential for healthy skin and personal well-being. The session, conducted by a certified trainer, inspired women not only on grooming techniques but also on how to carry themselves with confidence and pride.

As part of the programme, Hada Labo also sponsored Baju Raya outfits for all participants, ensuring they could look forward to the festive season with joy and self-assurance.

“For the first time in years, I felt truly confident putting on my Raya outfit. The workshop made me feel seen, cared for, and excited to celebrate with my family”, shared Faridah Binti Abu Kassim, from PPR Lembah Subang 2.

Meanwhile, Nor Yati Binti Kamarudin, from PPR Hiliran Ampang, one of the participants, shared her gratitude for the opportunity. She said the grooming workshop had taught her practical skills and self-care techniques, giving her confidence to look and feel her best this festive season.

Collaboration and Skill-Based Opportunities

Extending its impact beyond personal development, Hada Labo also commissioned selected underserved women to sew 160 sets of Baju Raya. These outfits will be donated to the underserved women from PPR communities, providing the tailors with a source of income while delivering meaningful gifts for the community.

This initiative reflects Hada Labo’s holistic approach to empowerment - combining self-care education, skill development, and community giving to create positive ripple effects that extend beyond individual beneficiaries.

Lim Mei Yuen, General Manager of Rohto-Mentholatum (M) Sdn Bhd, shared how the initiative has successfully contributed to uplifting the community over the years.

“As Hada Labo ‘Sending Love and Care to Society’ marks its seventh year, we are proud of how far the campaign has come in continuously identifying meaningful and relevant opportunities to support women. Each year, we strive to create initiatives that build confidence, encourage self-care, and provide tangible ways for women to uplift themselves and their communities. This year’s grooming workshop and Baju Raya initiative reflect our ongoing commitment to purposeful and inclusive impact, providing women with practical skills, confidence-building experiences, and opportunities to support their communities in meaningful ways,” added Lim.

Echoing this, Zulikhwan Ayub, Chief Operating Officer of WOW, highlighted the programme’s impact in providing underserved women with skill-based opportunities and meaningful ways to contribute to their communities.

“This partnership with Hada Labo allows participants to contribute to their communities while building new skills. We hope the programme inspires creativity, confidence, and personal growth in every participant,” he said.

Since its inception, Hada Labo ‘Sending Love and Care to Society’ has benefited hundreds of women and families across Malaysia, reaffirming the brand’s dedication to giving back and creating lasting social impact. Through programmes like this, Hada Labo continues to nurture aspirations, foster inclusivity, and empower women through meaningful CSR initiatives.
