The Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) and the Compliance Officers' Networking Group (CONG) will convene the 16th International Conference on Financial Crime and Counter Terrorism Financing (IFCTF) 2026 from 5 to 7 October 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Themed "Intelligence-Led Financial Crime Prevention: The Power of Data, Insights and Collaboration", IFCTF 2026 will bring together regulators, policymakers, financial institutions, law enforcement agencies and technology leaders to discuss emerging financial crime risks and the evolving approaches needed to combat them in the digital era.
Since its inception in 2011, IFCTF has served as a platform for strengthening practitioners' knowledge and advancing industry thought leadership in financial crime prevention. As criminal networks adopt artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, financial institutions face growing pressure to identify risks earlier, share intelligence more effectively and coordinate responses across institutions, sectors and jurisdictions. The conference will focus on how data, artificial intelligence and trusted intelligence-sharing can strengthen prevention, investigations and regulatory compliance while supporting responsible and effective risk management.
The discussions will also address the capabilities institutions need to implement intelligence-led approaches, including expertise across compliance, risk management, governance, technology and data analytics. Technology providers and industry practitioners will share practical perspectives on tools and approaches being used to improve fraud detection, investigations and financial crime prevention.
Edward Ling, Chief Executive Officer of AICB, said: "Financial crime is no longer confined to individual institutions or jurisdictions. Criminal networks are using data and emerging technologies at speed, making trusted intelligence-sharing and coordinated action increasingly important. IFCTF 2026 will examine how the industry can translate these capabilities into earlier detection, stronger prevention and more effective responses”.
Talent and workforce development will also remain a key focus throughout the conference. As institutions increasingly adopt intelligence-led and data-driven approaches, organisations will require professionals with capabilities spanning compliance, risk management, governance, technology and data analytics to navigate the next generation of financial crime threats. IFCTF 2026 is supported by leading financial crime technology providers, including among others, Platinum Sponsor SymphonyAI, alongside the Gold Sponsors, Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions and Moody’s, and industry partners. Sponsors and exhibitors will showcase innovative technologies and solutions designed to strengthen fraud detection, financial crime prevention, investigations and regulatory compliance, providing delegates with practical insights into the tools being deployed across the industry.
