Marini’s on 57 Receives 2015 Award of Excellence From New York’s Wine Spectator Magazine

Malaysia’s highest restaurant, bar and lounge, Marini’s on 57, has been awarded the 2015 Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator Magazine, which is based in New York City, United States of America (USA). The magazine has been reviewing restaurant wine lists since the introduction of their Restaurant Awards programme in 1981.

“Receiving this award is acknowledgment of the quality of our wine list that boasts an extensive range of some of the best wines in the world. This award by Wine Spectator magazine is proof of our commitment towards quality and innovation to put Malaysia on the international map of the culinary arts”, says Modesto Marini, founder of The Marini’s Group.

Wine Spectator is a lifestyle magazine that focuses on wine and wine culture, and gives out ratings to certain types of wine. It publishes 15 issues per year with content that includes news, feature articles, personality and company profiles, and general entertainment. Each issue also includes more than 1,000 wine reviews, which include wine ratings and tasting notes by industry experts.

In 2008 Wine Spectator magazine was ranked by the Luxury Institute as the number one business and consumer publication amongst influential and affluent readers in the USA.

Wine Spectator's current critics include executive editor Thomas Mathews, managing editor Kim Marcus, editor-at-large Harvey Steiman, tasting director Bruce Sanderson and senior editors Tim Fish, James Laube, James Molesworth, Alison Napjus and MaryAnn Worobiec.

Marini's on 57, founded by Modesto Marini, the recent recipient of the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards Icon of the Year award, is a multi-award winning venue having also received the Century International Quality Era Award, Gold Category in Geneva, Switzerland and the Restaurant of the Year award at last year’s World Branding Forum in the United Kingdom.
