FUJIFILM Malaysia launches new premium cameras - X-T20 AND X100F

FUJIFILM Malaysia, a world leader in imaging, information and document technologies, aims to reinforce its position in the mirrorless camera segment by adding two new premium cameras - X-T20 and X100F to its flagship X Series.

In 2016, Fujifilm Malaysia sharply increased its sales by 60 per cent. The latest offerings feature Fujifilm’s latest imaging technology including new sensors and processors and, in the case of the X-T20, 4K video recording to provide greater speed and control needed by professional photographers and enthusiasts, along with excellent colour reproduction and image quality.

“The growth in the mirrorless segment indicates that this technology continues to resonate with our consumers. The demand for innovation in this market will drive sales for this range in the years to come.

“The X Series cameras have been widely accepted worldwide since its inception in 2010. They stand for exceptional image quality, uncompromising design, and outstanding colour reproduction that reinforces our legacy in the photographic arena.

“It is our continued endeavour to meet and exceed the expectations and aspirations of our customers by launching the exciting new X Series,” said Mr. Yoshitaka Nakamura, Fujifilm Malaysia Managing Director.

Commenting on the new cameras, Mr. Nakamura said the X-T20 and X100F are powerful additions to Fujifilm X Series, offering exceptional quality in every shot.

“The X-T20 packs the latest technology into its stylish, compact and lightweight body so that our photographers get the most from their photography,” he added.

A successor to the popular X-T10 interchangeable-lens compact digital camera, the new Fujifilm X-T20 offers fully manual operation thanks to a shutter speed dial, exposure compensation dial, drive dial and other controls that have become synonymous with the X Series.

The new X-T20 comes complete with an APS-C sized 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III sensor and the X-Processor Pro image processing engine.

The updated sensor and processor, along with an enhanced autofocus (AF) algorithm, boost the camera’s startup time and AF performance, dramatically improving its ability to track moving subjects.

It also features new tilting touchscreen LCD monitor for multi-angle shooting and responds to quick gestures for a variety of efficient controls and picture review. The X-T20 is capable of recording both Full HD and 4K video using the X Series' famous Film Simulation effects. Users can output recorded video to an external monitor via the HDMI port and input audio from an external microphone.

Staying true to the X Series’ functional design philosophy, the X-T20 also combines an SLRstyle viewfinder and dial-based operation. The camera also has built-in Wi-Fi for sharing content or remote shooting.

The X-T20 is priced at RM4,688 (body only), with XC16-50mm kit priced at RM5,288 and with XF18-55mm kit is priced at RM6,288. It comes in silver and black colours. Fujifilm X100F is the fourth-generation release from the series that introduced the first Hybrid Viewfinder camera for ultimate flexibility, style and premium image quality.

“The X100F signifies the achievement of new heights in Fujifilm's endless pursuit of perfection in photography which allows photographers to control, frame, and create with style and ease,” said Mr. Nakamura.

It comes with an APS-C X-Trans CMOS III sensor and a megapixel count of 24MP, along with
an improved 91-point autofocus system and a fixed 23mm f/2.0 lens. Fujifilm also upgraded
the camera's hybrid viewfinder, offering up to 6x magnification and 60fps support.
