Leading e-commerce platform, Lazada Malaysia, today announced the launch of cash on delivery (COD) payment method for 4.5 million international products, ahead of Lazada’s biggest campaign, Online Revolution happening this 11th November. Customers are now able to purchase international products from top categories including Fashion, Electronic Accessories, Home and Living and select COD as their payment of choice during the checkout process.
This pilot initiative is rolled-out to 170 top performing merchants from China, enabling these sellers to expand their offerings to customers outside of metropolitan cities, where cash-on-delivery is a preferred payment method while making online purchases. To-date, this payment method is available for all online purchases made in major cities in West Malaysia & East Malaysia, with parcel fulfilment by Lazada’s own logistic arm, Lazada Express.
Hans-Peter Ressel, CEO of Lazada Malaysia said “In line with Lazada’s vision of empowering sellers to deliver a great customer experience, we are excited to launch COD payment method for purchases of international products. Earlier this year, we introduced Over-The-Counter (OTC) payment method at 7-Eleven stores where we have witnessed encouraging growth particularly from customers without credit cards and that are not comfortable with online payment methods. Introduction of the COD payment option for international products is a testament that we’re continuously diversifying our products and services, providing Malaysians added convenience, choice and value especially as we gear towards Lazada’s annual Online Revolution shopping event, themed Shop the Universe, which kicks off on 11th of November”.
