Lazada Puts More Cash in Sellers’ Pocket with 0% Commission

Are you looking for an exciting way to grow your business? Are you a fashion seller who sells unique merchandise on social media? New and existing sellers on Lazada Malaysia will now be able to be even more successful through the introduction of 0% commission rate for products sold via the platform. This new measure introduced by Lazada Malaysia would empower sellers to focus in building their online presence, reaching out to over 30 million Malaysians and take charge of their income, all on-the-go. As part of #EveryoneCanSell, Lazada is now a marketplace which is open to all types of sellers – individuals and companies with a strong focus on product quality and customer experience.

The 0% commission rate would be effective immediately to all local sellers for products sold in the Fashion category, and a 2% commission rate would be applicable for all other categories (excluding Electronics & Home Appliances).

To enhance the contributions of SMEs to the growth of the sector, Lazada Malaysia has also rolled out a slew of measures that will make doing business online easier, faster and more financially rewarding. Beginning February 2018, new sellers can now start selling in 15 minutes through the introduction of a simplified sign-up form which requires registrants to provide just their email address, telephone number and address. Additionally, the introduction of the new Lazada Seller Center App[1] will allow sellers to manage their online store on-the-go with features such as buyer & seller Q&A, product creation and weekly business performance dashboards.

“Our aim has always been to empower our sellers, and the measures above are an extension to the #EveryoneCanSell campaign launched last September as SMEs play an instrumental part in our business. With 20,000 sellers on board and growing, we are confident that this move would further spur the growth of SMEs in Malaysia and we are on track in bringing together 50,000 merchants onto our platform by end of 2018,” according to the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Lazada Malaysia, Christophe Lejeune.
