
Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan
will be launching its Payday Campaign from 26 to 28 February 2018 - an
initiative prompted by users’ shopping habits during payday period. Shopee
users can look forward to a series of great deals and discounts throughout this
campaign, including an 18% cashback in Shopee coins across all promotional
items. For every RM1 spent, users will receive 18 Shopee coins in return, hence
providing greater value and cost-savings for all.
“Last year, we observed an average spike of 25% in the volume of
transactions during Malaysians’ payday period, which usually happens from the
25th to 31st of each month. This trend prompted us to initiate the Pay Day
campaign and the 18% cashback scheme, to provide our loyal users greater
cost-savings during this period of peak shopping activity,” said Ian Ho,
Regional Managing Director of Shopee.
Additionally, shopping activity is observed to peak during lunch time
and after dinner, with the highest traffic recorded between 12.00 noon and 1.00
pm, and from 8.00 pm to 9.00 pm. When carting out purchases, online transfers
are found to be the most preferred mode of payment, followed by credit and
debit cards, and finally bank transfers.

Shopee will kickstart the payday party with a pre-hype sale from 21
February featuring exclusive deals from leading brands including Elianto, Pro
Shop, Reckitt Benckiser and many more. During the 3-day campaign highlight (26
to 28 February), users can shop for irresistible deals across over 5,000
products from top categories including Mobile & Gadgets; Health &
Beauty; Toys, Kids & Babies; Home & Living; Home Appliances; Groceries,
Women’s Fashion, and Men’s Fashion. Shopee has also partnered with brands such as
L’Oreal, Nestle, Big Pharmacy, Bagstation, XES Shoes and Vivo to provide a
series of discounts for ardent Shopeeholics across Malaysia. Additionally, the
daily Shocking Sale will be increased to 5 cycles during the campaign period,
with highly sought-after products going at shockingly low prices for a limited
time, while stocks last.
In line with the campaign, Shopee will also be launching its Facebook
Live Game: PayDay Edition on 26 February at 2.00pm; where users can stand a
chance to win Shopee coins and the grand prize of a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 worth
RM3,999 when they play the game. To add on to the excitement, users can also
participate in the PayDay Mobile Auction on shopee_mamak within the Shopee app
during the campaign period to stand a chance to win prizes worth more than
RM4,000; including a Nubia M2 Lite, an OPPO F5 and a Dyson Vacuum.
