Poh Kong Launches Gold Note of Hope Inspired by Tun M

Poh Kong Jewellers Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s leading jewellery brand has unveiled a new homegrown token of patriotism, the Gold Note of Hope, in the presence of our Prime Minister, Yang Amat Berhormat, Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad, that happened earlier today.

For 42 years, Poh Kong, the largest jewellery retail chain in Malaysia has created beautiful items for Malaysians to celebrate special occasions. As Malaysia saw a major milestone earlier this year, Poh Kong has endeavoured to mark the significant moment with the Gold Note of Hope as a tribute to the greatest leader of our nation, our Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad.

At 93-years old, the nonagenarian is currently the oldest serving world leader and Malaysia’s longest serving Prime Minister. His abiding love and incredible fighting spirit for our nation and its people, is a true inspiration that will be etched into the Malaysian history forever, just like gold. With this, Poh Kong hopes to inspire the same devotion amongst Malaysians towards our beautiful nation with the Gold Note of Hope.

At the launch of the exquisite Gold Note of Hope, the Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said, “I’d like to congratulate and thank Executive Chairman and Group Managing Director Choon Yee Seiong and Poh Kong for creating this Gold Note of Hope and for pledging part of the proceeds to our Tabung Harapan. It is my hope that this initiative will help inspire other business entities to come forward and play their part in making the nation great again.”

The Gold Note of Hope, priced at RM160, is set to become a local special collectors’ item that marks a significant moment for Malaysia. The 999.9 fine gold note depicts an autographed portrait of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the Jalur Gemilang, some of our iconic infrastructure and our national flower, the Bunga Raya. It truly symbolises the quintessence of all Malaysians and is the perfect token to commemorate the love for our nation. Adding to that, RM30 from each purchase of the Gold Note of Hope will be donated to Tabung Harapan with Poh Kong committing to contribute at least RM1 million by the end of this year.

These together with Tun Dr. Mahathir’s tenacious fighting spirit was also a source of inspiration behind the creation of this local collectible item that we hope will serve as a motivation to our people to be the difference we want to see in our country. To make this more special, Poh Kong is committed to see through the RM1 million with the initial contribution today.”
