CJ WOW SHOP to extend all-new Mandarin segments on ntv7

Kicking-off the new year with a WOW, Malaysia’s innovative home shopping network CJ WOW SHOP is set to extend its daily Mandarin on-air programme to the popular urban television channel ntv7 starting 31 December onwards. This provides Chinese fans with greater opportunity and access to innovative lifestyle and home products presented over fresh and entertaining on-air demonstrations. The extended shows on ntv7 adds to its existing array of Mandarin content across channels including free-to-air television channel 8TV, online and mobile commerce platforms.

“Our Mandarin shows have been contributing significantly to CJ WOW SHOP’s overall business, as evident from the growing number of transactions and customers from the Chinese audience.   Having ntv7 as our partner to host these segments is in line with our expansion strategy. With more programme slots for our audience to enjoy, we will be able to meet the growing consumer demand for inventive offerings that enrich their lives while sharing more remarkable wow moments with them,” said Mr. Kim Yang Hyun, CEO of MP CJ ENM Sdn Bhd.

Encik Johan Ishak, CEO of Media Prima TV Networks further expressed that Chinese audience targeted CJ WOW SHOP programs will fit in nicely with the other prime time programs such as Korean dramas, Mandarin News, Chinese dramas and English movies.

Since its very first Mandarin content went on-air on 8 January 2017, the platform has recorded a steady increase of customers from among the Chinese community with over 45% year-on-year growth. Its wild success was partly driven by the line-up of lively and animated show hosts – making each product demonstration entertaining to watch without compromising on the effectiveness of the product showcase.

The extended content on ntv7 also features newly-recruited CJ WOW SHOP Mandarin show hosts, which will be introduced during our special live show on Monday, 31st December 2018 at 8.30pm on ntv7. They will be working alongside the existing line-up that fans have come to know and adore, including Baki Zainal, Pauline Tan, Gary Yap, Desmond Tey, Kah Chee, Shin Kong and many more.

Combining the show hosts capabilities and Korean production standards, CJ WOW SHOP makes a great avenue for brands to effectively tell their product stories, while expanding their market reach to grow revenue.

Mr. Kim Yang Hyun added, “Our home shopping network is a prime avenue for brands to tap deeper into the Chinese audience market and effectively increase their product uptake. Over the years, we have helped many home-grown brands, such as MUGEN, Riino, SimplySiti, Gmax and Gintell among others, unlock potential opportunities of this platform. Now, with the extended slots on ntv7, we’re ready to host more brands on CJ WOW SHOP to delight and surprise our customers.”
