The finalists comprised of Malaysian women between the ages of 25 to 55 years, from all ethnic backgrounds, and various professions including, doctors, accountants, entrepreneurs, and teachers.

YBhg. Datin Harveen Kaur, 2017 Winner and Mrs Malaysia World National Director, led the judging panel, and had only positive and inspiring words for the winners.
“I am very proud of this year’s finalists; they are beautiful and successful individuals with so much potential. This is the start of an exciting journey which will benefit them a great deal. I am excited to see who will be crowned the new queen who will carry our nation’s flag at the Mrs World 2020 Pageant at Las Vegas on the 6th of December 2019. My advice to the finalists, is to believe in themselves, and give it their all, because no matter the outcome, this pageant will transform them into the best version of themselves,” said Datin Harveen Kaur.

Spearheading the pageant as its’s National Director is, Datin Harveen Kaur, took over the reins of the pageant after being crowned Mrs Malaysia World 2017. Since then, the pageant has grown by leaps and bounds. This year’s pageant attracted over 650 applicants, a staggering count, in comparison with previous years. Under her stewardship, the pageant has crafted a specific program, which focuses on empowering the finalists, with the skills that they need to better themselves.

Over the next two months, they will undergo an arduous training regime that will include sessions on grooming (hair and make-up), personal wellness, mindset conditioning, self-defense lessons, fitness, baking, catwalk and stage presence, and public speaking. Added to that, the finalists will carry out community programs, including a visit to the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM).

“Our goal is to produce role-models, not models. Every aspect of this pageant is to empower these women to become leaders in their own right, and to inspire their peers, families, friends and their respective communities,” said YBhg Dato’ Dr Mohandas Kattayat, CEO and founder of Mrs Malaysia World Sdn. Bhd.

On top of the preliminary sessions, pageant finalists will also be assessed during the grand finals

through a series of competitions, broken down into an Interview, Preliminary, Commitment and Perseverance throughout the 2 months of training. There will also be 5 sub-titles to be awarded which will be announced early November.

Datin Harveen added, “This pageant is not just about glitz and glamour, we are committed to molding our finalists to become the best that they can, and this process is tough, however, ultimately a rewarding one. What we practice is a tried and tested program that has a proven track-record of unlocking opportunities for past Mrs  Malaysia World Pageant finalists, whether in their career or personal lives.”

Also present at the press conference was reigning Mrs Malaysia World 2018/2019 and 2nd Runner-Up in the Mrs World 2019 pageant, Mrs Kokilam Kathirvailu who was in high-spirits after the announcement of the finalists.

The pageant directors and myself, are excited to see who will be crowned the winner, and hopefully be the first Malaysian to win the Mrs World pageant,” said Mrs Kokilam Kathirvailu, Mrs Malaysia World 2018/2019 and 2nd Runner-Up in the Mrs World 2019 pageant.
