Sunway International School Sunway Iskandar Celebrates Graduates of Class 2021

Sunway International School Sunway Iskandar held its graduation ceremony on the 8th and 9th of December, honoring and commemorating the achievement of students from the class of 2021 through the challenging period of pandemic.

The two-day event celebrated young graduates from Kindergarten and Elementary (Grade 5) at SIS Sunway Iskandar Multi-Purpose Hall; and graduates from International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP, Grade 12) at Sunway Hotel Big Box Ballroom.

The graduation was virtually officiated by CEO of Sunway Education Group Professor Elizabeth Lee, along with the physical presences of Sunway International School Executive Director Dr Cheng Mien Wee, Sunway International School Principal Craig Gerow, and dedicated teachers from each of the school’s programmes.

“I commend our teachers and students who continued with learning online or via mixed modes over the past many months. I also thank parents for not pausing their children’s studies but instead supported our school’s approaches. Their graduation stories evidence their purpose in and our school’s commitment to education,” said Dr Cheng in her congratulatory speech.

The momentous event was attended by over 60 graduates along with their proud family members by following strict Standard Operating Procedures. Musical performances were also presented by the students during the graduation sessions to celebrate.

“I commend you on your adaptability and resilience. This pandemic has changed how we are able to interact with each other, the way we work and how we are able to go to school. But you made it through. Change will not stop and you will have many more changes and challenges ahead of you.  You will be ready,” said Craig’s message of encouragement for the graduates upon stepping into the next stages of their lives.

At SIS Sunway Iskandar, the Early Years through Grade 10 curriculum is based on the internationally renowned Ontario (Canada) Curriculum. The school is also officially authorized, accredited, and accepted as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12 at pre-university level. The school has successfully nurtured students of all ages throughout the adoption of online classes and examinations with creative and engaging teaching methods.
