For this year, McDonald’s Malaysia is increasing the prizes as their commitment to reward the 25 selected inspirational teachers and their nominators. In addition to the cash vouchers worth RM5,000, as well as a trophy and ce
rtificate awarded to the inspirational teachers, the respective school of the winners will also receive an allocation of RM5,000 to upgrade the teachers’ staff room.
To further encourage students to display their appreciation for their teacher, every qualified nominator will receive the National Level Participation Certificate. This certificate will contribute towards their Physical, Sports and Co-Curricular Assessment (PAJSK) marks at school.
“McDonald’s has always been appreciative of the countless contributions from our teachers, who have made selfless sacrifices for the development and nurturing, as well as the positive impact provided to children in the aspects of academic, co-curriculum and character building. AGI McDonald’s is a platform created and introduced by McDonald’s seven years ago, with the purpose of recognising and appreciating our teachers across the nation,” said Dato’ Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director and Local Operating Partner, McDonald’s Malaysia.
“This year, for the first time, McDonald’s Malaysia has also prepared an allocation of RM5,000 for the purpose of upgrading the staff rooms of the 25 selected inspirational teachers. Meanwhile, student nominators will also be issued National Level Participation Certificates,” Dato’ Azmir added.
This year’s collaboration between McDonald’s and the Ministry of Education Malaysia is an initiative by McDonald’s Malaysia in response to the Ministry’s call in the 2023 New Year Mandate for more corporate participation through various projects, such as CSR, to realise People-Centred Education.
Other than the award ceremony, McDonald’s will also be inviting selected teachers across the nation to participate in the Teachers’ Day celebration at all McDonald’s outlets from the 1 to 31 May 2023. This is also an initiative by McDonald’s to celebrate teachers for their contributions and roles as the community’s backbone in educating and making a significant impact on the students.
Organised by McDonald’s Malaysia since 2017, AGI McDonald’s is an annual event that is recognised by the Ministry of Education Malaysia. Since its inception, AGI McDonald’s has been a much-anticipated event which has never failed to attract nominations every year.
