Projek Sarapan MILO® expands reach to Kelantan and Terengganu

With many B40 communities striving to make ends meet, the nutritional needs of school-going children continue to be a priority for families. Stepping in to lend a hand, MILO®, much-loved by Malaysians from all walks of life, started a nutritious breakfast programme back in 2020 for primary school students nationwide.  MILO® has now extended its reach to Kelantan and Terengganu with its latest Projek Sarapan MILO® to support more families with primary school children on the East Coast.

Beginning in August, daily breakfast complete with nutritious MILO® UHT malt beverages are being provided to 250 students across five schools in Kelantan and Terengganu for a month. The social responsibility initiative by the company’s employee volunteer programme, Nestlé Cares, will focus on those who are currently not enrolled in the Rancangan Makanan Tambahan (RMT) under the Ministry of Education (MOE), with whom MILO® has been working hand-in-hand to support the nutritional needs of young students.

“Our commitment to Malaysians extends beyond our quality products; it’s also about making a meaningful impact on the communities around us,” said Ng Su Yen, Business Executive Officer of MILO®️, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad. “In light of rising commodity prices and inflation, many families in the B40 income bracket may not afford basic necessities, including nutritious food. We hope to ease their financial pressures through such efforts, reinforcing MILO®’s long-standing tradition of aiding communities and fostering the health and development of the young.”

“Through the Projek Sarapan MILO®, we’re not just providing breakfast, we’re doing our small part to invest in the future of these children by cultivating well-being and healthy lifestyles. Students deserve a nutritious start to their day so they can stay focused and remain active.”

MILO®’s dedication to providing healthier, nutritious products is also reflected in its achievement of the Healthier Choice Logo (HCL) certification. The certification underscores the brand’s ongoing efforts to meet or exceed nutritional standards, with more balanced options. Su Yen added, “We are delivering on our promise to not just make quality products that taste good but ones that also have good nutritional value.”

Building on MILO®’s previous community efforts including Projek Kantin launched in October 2020, which supported 10,550 students across 400 schools nationwide with over 400,000 MILO® UHT malt beverages with breakfast daily, this latest effort post COVID-19 pandemic continues the brand’s tradition of providing heartfelt support that champions healthy breakfast habits and demonstrates strong community values.
