20 ETIKA FANS ACROSS MALAYSIA EARN WELL-DESERVED REWARDS THROUGH BOTOL-BOTOL MENANG SEJUTA CONTEST

Etika Sdn Bhd (“Etika”), one of Malaysia’s most prominent Halal beverage companies, had held their “Botol-botol Menang Sejuta” September Grand Finale recently, giving away RM10,000 each to two winners – Iman Binti Ismail (22 years old) from Kedah and Nabilah Binti Othman (29 years old) from Kuala Lumpur. All the other 18 finalists were also rewarded with RM1,000 cash prizes each. This was followed by the  “Botol-botol Menang Sejuta” August Finale that was held last month by Etika, to give away total cash prizes of RM57,000 in the span of two months to a total of 30 finalists winning the contest!

“Etika’s goal in being one of the leading Halal beverage companies in Malaysia is to ensure that our loyal consumers are constantly excited and looking forward to what’s next from us. With that, we wanted to reward them for constantly supporting us through our journey and having our brands as a constant staple in their lives. Hence, we came up with this unique idea in order to utilize the tools that they already have in their lives while consuming their favourite products,” said Santharuban T. Sundaram, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Alternate Business at Etika Sdn Bhd.

Gift to a mother and a mother-to-be
Nabilah, a soon to be mother in 3 weeks, was elated when her name was called out as one of the winners of the RM10,000 cash prize in the ‘Botol-botol Menang Sejuta’ contest. “This is the first contest I’ve ever participated in, and I couldn’t even believe it when my name was called out. It is definitely surreal. It feels like an unexpected baby shower gift. I am very thankful for this cash prize because it can definitely help with our preparations for the baby’s arrival.”

The other winner, Iman, was praying for a small win but instead received RM10,000 cash prize. “My family has always been a big fan of Etika drinks and to be rewarded while consuming one of my favourite products in such a big way is unbelievable. I’m thankful for my mother because she’s the one that encouraged everyone in the family to join the contest – in total, all 6 family members participated. The prize is hers, really. I’m definitely giving the cash prize to my mum. I hope that Etika does more activities and contests like this in the future to continue rewarding their loyal fans like us.”

Going digital in a fun, rewarding manner
Shocked by his struck of luck, Rahim A/L Hani, a 47-year-old man from the Orang Asli community in Tasik Bera, Pahang, expressed his delight to be one of the finalists who bagged home RM1,000 cash. “I think it’s important that we, as Orang Asli, to step out of our comfort zone as well. Fun contest like this will encourage us to get in touch with digital technologies, such as Boost, in a light-hearted manner. I didn’t know how to participate, in fact, my friend helped me. But, I learned and here I am – being rewarded for my efforts to try. I’m thankful for this chance.”

The contest mechanics were simple. All contestants had to do was purchase any of their favourite Etika product ranging from Pepsi, 7UP, Mountain Dew, Mirinda, MUG, Revive Isotonic, Tropicana Twister, Lipton, Calpis or Kickapoo with a white bottle cap during the promotion period and redeem the codes in their Boost account.

With the entry of each unique code into Boost, the reward was then credited into each account, with a maximum of twenty (20) credits rewards able to be redeemed throughout the contest period.

“As we had hoped, the contest was very well received by our beloved consumers as this is completely different from the activations that were executed previously by Etika. Everyone who purchased our products with the special bottle cap was also a winner in our ‘Botol-Botol Menang Sejuta’ contest. We hope everyone joins in our exciting contests and activities again in the future,” added Santharuban.
