SOPHIA HILLS WINS GOLD FOR RESIDENTIAL (MID RISE) CATEGORY AT FIABCI WORLD PRIX D’EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2020

SOPHIA HILLS, a modern contemporary masterpiece jointly developed by Hoi Hup Realty Pte Ltd and Sunway Development Pte Ltd, was awarded the World Gold Winner in the Residential (Mid Rise) category at the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2020.

The largest development in Singapore’s District 9, Sophia Hills is a low rise 493 units condominium, sitting atop the undulating ground of Mount Sophia - a hill rich with history and an unparalleled legacy. The developers have kept the heritage alive with the restoration and integration of three conserved buildings. Trinity Theological College Chapel which was built in 1969 has been converted as a Restaurant, whilst Olson Building by Frank Wilmin Brewer in 1928, now serves as The Sophia Clubhouse while Nan Wah Girl’s School built in 1941, has been designated as a childcare centre or kindergarten.

A delightful piece of architecture with thoughtful use of traditional palate, Sophia Hills blends seamlessly with the spirit of its place. It is truly “A Hundred Years in the Making”.

Deputy Managing Director, Property Development Division (International) Sunway Berhad, Tan Wee Bee, said “Sunway is committed to driving the ambitions of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. The preservation of Singapore’s cultural and architectural heritage for the community is an important element to building sustainable cities and communities.”

General Manager, Hoi Hup Realty, Mr Koon Wai Leong, said “We are glad that our works in Sophia Hills has preserved the historic character of Mount Sophia as well as giving new lease of life to the architecturally important buildings and neighbourhood.”

The FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Award is one of the highest honours given to outstanding projects. Awarded by an international panel comprising top real estate professionals and experts, it recognises projects that best embodies excellence in all the real estate disciplines involved in its creation and overall merit.

This award represents another milestone for Hoi Hup and Sunway and underscores their commitment to set new standards of quality, value and an innovative form of excellence with a focus on sustainable development. These standards will also be exemplified in the upcoming Ki Residences at Brookvale and Parc Central Residences in Tampines Avenue 10. Ki Residences will be enveloped within a forest complete with gurgling brooks with the developers investing in a new road to improve the neighbourhood’s connectivity of Sunset Estate. The upcoming executive condominium Parc Central Residences in Tampines Avenue 10 is designed as a reminiscent of New York Central Park with a larger than football-field sized landscape area.
